Chiswick Announces New Coaching Line Up

This week Chiswick concluded an energetic off-season with the announcement of THREE new coaches for the club, to support Head Coach Andy Barrington.

Head Coach: Andy Barrington

We welcome Tom Doubleday and James Snape as Senior Coaches. Working with Head Coach Andy Barrington, the new coaching duo will plan and execute coaching across the whole club. With rich and varied playing and coaching experience, Tom and James came together at Imperial Medics, where they are acting DORs and head coaches. James said “We were looking for an ambitious club with a friendly atmosphere. Chiswick, with the new AGP up and running and the clubhouse extension planned, is the forward looking club we wanted. Dubby and I can’t wait to get stuck in with the coaches and players.”

In addition Chiswick has secured the services of current London Irish player Tom Stephenson. Tom spent some time with Chiswick Rugby last season and has now committed to a more dedicated role. He will bring a professional eye to the performance squad, concentrating on backs play in attack and defence.

Specialist Performance Coach: Tom Stephenson

Tom Wheelock continues as Head of S&C at the club. His knowledge and contribution had a major impact throughout last season and he plans to be even more effective in the coming year – so get ready boys!

Head Coach Andy B adds “We do not have the resources of many other local clubs. I’m delighted that Chiswick has decided to invest where it will have the biggest direct impact on the training and playing environment – the people. These appointments, along with an expanded medical support team (more on that to follow), demonstrates our commitment to the players. Our ambition is to be the most admired amateur rugby club in West London. A few years ago the club started mini rugby and now we have hundreds of children playing every week. We are advancing across the club in everything we do and I hope sustained growth and success on and off the field will go hand in hand.”

The club welcomes new players and coaches of all ages and standards.
