Chiswick Rugby continues to improve the rugby training and playing environment by investing in additional medical support this coming season. With increased spotlight on player injuries and the negative effect this might have on recruiting young players into the game, Chiswick are pleased to confirm two new appointments, as well as plans for a new treatment room to be built as part of the club extension in early 2020.
Ania Ciszewska continues to head up the medical team, working with all players during the week and providing pitchside cover for the 1st XV on Saturday. She takes responsibility for the recording and management of player injuries and return-to-play planning, working with S&C coach Thomas Wheelock. Of working with Chiswick players, Ania says ‘for the most part, the boys listen to the advice they’re given and recognise the importance of injury treatment and rehabilitation. I’m delighted that Chiswick Rugby takes players’ health seriously and is investing in this area’.

Joining the team is Daniela Cherneva, a full-time sports therapist with local company Clinic4sport. Daniela has spent the last few seasons with London Welsh RFC and will provide pitchside cover for the 2nd XV.
And we are pleased to confirm that student physiotherapist Keely Empson will be supporting the 3rd and 4th XV for the coming season. Keely has had plenty of experience, working with Cardiff Met and Cardiff Blue Dragons rugby league teams. She’s actually currently training with a local club side and will play her first game this July.
Chairman Kelvin Campbell said ‘our aim is to have high quality cover for every team. The club exists to offer rugby players of all standards a safe and enjoyable environment to play rugby. This season we have increased both our coaching and medical teams and we hope this provides a platform to fulfill our vision to become West London’s most successful amateur rugby club.’
Chiswick Rugby welcomes new players of all ages and standards.
