If you’re at a loose end this evening (Friday 25th August), Chiswick will be at another local rival in Grasshoppers RFC for their final preseason match, kick off at 7.45pm. Grasshoppers, who play in London 3, will provide a stern test for the squad still putting in to practice the new systems implemented by Head Coach Nick Huggett, but the game will be a good opportunity to see how the team is shaping up ahead of the first league fixture against Belsize Park on Saturday 9th September.
Chiswick have named a large squad again for this fixture, particularly in the front row, which will take place over 4x 20minute quarters:
Forwards: Marko Chraplywyj, Drew Nolan-Hutchinson, Matt ‘Chewy’ Newman, Stewy Parmeter, Matt Cooper, Simon Allen- Clarke, James Dibble, James Filbey, Phil Gray, Matt Arber, Jon Joyce, Matt Thomas
Backs: Luca Vannini, Gabs Lowe, Chris Hitchcock, Simon Hallett, Tom Harper, James Bunbury, Arron Shaw, Dan Sutherland, Tom Steer, Dave Hill
Kick-off is at 7.45pm, Grasshoppers Rugby Club, MacFarlane Ln, Isleworth, TW7 5PN
Rugby is back! With extended squads this allows teams to rotate their players and brush off those cobwebs. The outdoor pints flowing we’re hoping teams will use this occasion as both a pre-season hit out but also a social afterwards!
